Ryan Johnston

Pacific Northwest Regional Vice President

Since joining staff in 2011, Ryan Johnston (RJ) has been passionate about leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. He serves as the Regional Vice President of Field Ministry for the Pacific Northwest based out of West Linn, Oregon where he lives with his wife Molly and their three kids: Abby, Tyler and Jordyn. RJ believes FCA is in the business of building leaders through discipleship for the purpose of partnership. He is thankful and humbled to play for such an amazing team like PNW FCA and knows the best is yet to come.

Johanna Meza

Pacific Northwest Operations Director

Born and raised in Washington, Johanna is a former athlete who attended WSU and received her BA in Sports Management. She joined FCA in 2013 after getting married to her husband Cory and moving to Vancouver, WA. Johanna has loved serving and empowering her teammates in this dream job where she can connect her passion for Jesus and athletics. She loves to spend time baking treats for friends and following all things with the Oregon Ducks and the Olympics.

Ministry Advancement Coordinator

An Oregon native, Makena attended Texas Christian University and earned her BS while competing in Track and Field. She served on staff with TCU FCA while finishing school. Makena is passionate about discipleship and developing leaders among coaches and athletes.

Mikel Hawks

Karly Joseph

Regional Director of Donor & Board Advancement

Originally from Bellingham, Karly is a native of the PNW. She played basketball and softball at Walla Walla University and completed her MBA at George Fox University. She brings almost 10 years of fundraising and nonprofit management experience into her role and she is passionate about the work that God is doing through the ministry of FCA in this region. Karly and her husband, Collin, live in Canby with their daughter and lead FCA ministry at Canby High School.

Mikel Hawks

Mikel Hawks

Pacific Northwest Creative Director

Born and raised in Virginia, Mikel alongside his wife Alyssa moved to Portland in 2017 to be a part of what God is doing in Portland. Mikel has a passion for FCA because he has experienced the power of FCA. Mikel became a disciple of Jesus in 2014 at an FCA College Advance in Chattanooga, TN. He has now been on staff since 2017 as first an Area Rep but now serves as the PNW Creative Director. He has a passion for the story of Jesus and how that story is playing out through the vehicle of FCA.

Talent Advancement Coordinator

As an Oregon native and University of Oregon graduate, Amy grew up a fan of the Ducks. She has worked with churches in leadership development, coached clients to become better communicators and listeners, and is passionate about discipleship. Amy serves FCA working in hiring and staff development.

Mike McCall

Assistant Regional Director of Donor and Board Advancement

Mike is committed to helping FCA bring young athletes and coaches together through the ministry of FCA Sports. His thirty-five years of experience in the professional sports business will be beneficial in helping raise money for future sports facilities in the Pacific Northwest, starting in Boise, ID.


Mike has two faithful children, both married, and two wonderful grandchildren. “Watching kids, coaches and families from all walks of life participate in sports in a Christian environment means the world to me and I’m enthusiastically looking forward to seeing that unfold!

Makena Schroder

Bryan Wiepert

Pacific Northwest FCA Board Chair

Bryan is the Founder of Cascade Wealth Group, a wealth advisory firm in the Pacific Northwest. Bryan originally started in the financial services business with Merrill Lynch and then eventually spent 14 years with US Bancorp Wealth Management. Cascade primary focus is on helping our clients succeed and achieve their personal goals. With over 100 years of combined experience the Cascade team works to help our clients Invest for Today, Grow for Tomorrow and Give for the Future.


Bryan has served on non-profit boards for years as both a board member and a board chair. Bryan was the local FCA board chair before joining the Pacific Northwest Board and becoming the board chair there. He loves the mission and vision of FCA and the desire to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus and his church.



Bryan is married to Jenny and they have four kids. All four play sports and he has the unique experience of working with FCA in both a board capacity and also in direct ministry. Bryan and Jenny both lead huddles at the middle school and high school level and truly have passion for seeing their community changed for Jesus. 

Makena Schroder

Ann Freeman

Ann Freeman was at Nike for over 26 years holding multiple leadership positions in all key global markets. Most recently she was the Vice President and General Manager of North America. It was there she oversaw all aspects of the business including inspiring the team of 25,000 to grow Nike’s largest market. Ann currently serves on the board of directors for Allbirds.


Ann’s leadership style is about creating collaboration at the highest level, and building teams that play cohesively together. Believing that when a vision is clear, a mission is set and a team is united, then anything is possible. She holds a BS in Finance from Ohio University where she also was a four year letterman on the Basketball team.


She is thrilled to join the PNW FCA Board as she is passionate about inspiring individuals, especially young adults to see their full potential while sharing the power of the Lords love. She delights in spending time with her husband Eric and their 6 children, Joe & Katie, 21 years old and Brianna, Grace, Kadin & Kyle who are all 19.

Makena Schroder

Jeff Nopper

Jeff Nopper has been a life-long Oregonian. Happily married for over 44 years to Susan, with two daughters (Jessica and Allison), two son-in-laws (Danny and Casey), three grandchildren (Wyatt, Evelyn, and Colin) and two grand dogs. A graduate of Oregon State University (Class of 1975 – GO BEAVS!) with a degree in Business Administration, Jeff completed a 45-year career in residential real estate in August of 2022. Currently Jeff serves at his home Church, River West Church in Lake Oswego, on the Prayer Team and Men’s Ministry Leadership Team, and is a volunteer driver for the Meals on Wheels program in the Tigard area.


Additional interests include golf, gardening, and following OSU sports. Life Bible verses include: Philippians 2:4, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, and Colossians 4:2. Jeff is looking forward to what God has for him in this next chapter of life.

Chuck Bomar

Chuck Bomar has been a leader for over 25 years in the non-profit and business world. A serial entrepreneur he has founded a church, businesses that have sold and a non-profit that is designed to help Christian business owners care more holistically for the well-being of their employees. Currently owning and leading 8 companies, Chuck also serves as a consultant to non-profits and businesses who are navigating growth, change or conflict.


Married to Barbara for 22 years, Chuck enjoys nothing more than being with his wife and three daughters: Karis (18), Hope (15) and Sayla (11). Being a dad of girls is definitely one of Chuck’s greatest joys. A wrestler through his first two years in college and an avid football fan, Chuck see’s FCA’s vision as an intentional way to further the gospel into the heart of any given community. 

Makena Schroder

Kevin Relyea

Kevin has been married to Mary for 47 years. They have four adult children and 9.5 grandchildren. He loves most all sports, (and rooting for the Padres and Chargers) but he and Mary have recently gotten hooked on pickleball.


Kevin started in restaurants as a sixteen-year-old burger flipper and 22 years later was the CEO of an international “Fortune 500” restaurant company with over 50,000 employees. While CEO, he began to spend much of his free time traveling the world with "E3 Partners" to plant churches and eventually felt called to leave his business CEO role and focus on developing "Great Commission" leaders. His Passion to develop young leaders led him in 2012 to take a role as Executive Pastor at a Church in Portland, Oregon and to later lead a Christian Camp and Conference Center in Idyllwild, Ca. He was also an Adjunct Professor at California Baptist University.


Kevin now partners with Convene, Inc. to help Christian CEO's and business owners become as fruitful for the Kingdom as they can. He has an MBA from Pepperdine University

Makena Schroder

Nic Patee

Nic Patee was a collegiate baseball player at Northwest Nazarene University. He then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arizona School of Health Sciences. Along with his wife, Mindy, founded Work Right NW - a corporate injury prevention organization that serves employers in 33 states. His hobby is coaching young ballplayers in a growing relationship with Jesus & their church.
