The Most Asked Questions About Joining Our Team

If you can't find what you're looking for below, reach out and we'll be happy to shed some light on any of your questions!

  • Am I called to FCA?

If you are passionate about ministering to coaches and the athletes whom they influence, by seeing them come to know Christ and to grow in their faith, then you may be called to ministry with FCA. This is the vision of our ministry and FCA’s ultimate goal.

We believe wholeheartedly that serving the Lord through FCA is answering a call to Christ in sports. Answering this call to join our ministry might be a career-long pursuit. Therefore, we want to provide you with some information and an application process that may be helpful in discerning your call to serve the Lord through FCA.

  • Why raise support?

FCA is a faith-financed ministry and depends on the generosity of donors to support the ministry. Each FCA field ministry role includes responsibility for developing and implementing a funding plan as part of the preparation and onboarding process prior to being hired. FCA anticipates an approximate $60,000 to $75,000 annual budget for a starting FCA field position (Area Rep or Area Director, with increases for positions like Multi-Area or State Directors.)  This budget covers salary, payroll taxes, benefit costs, program and operating costs.

As field ministry staff trust God for their ministry, each is able to invite individuals, churches and other organizations to be active in FCA ministry through prayer, volunteering and financial commitments.

Fundraising is not just an add-on of the position. We believe that it is absolutely a part of ministry! In the PNW, fundraising is focused on transformational giving, not just a transaction process. This means that fundraising looks more like storytelling, vision casting, invitations to invest in a discipleship movement and relationship building. Every interaction that someone has with FCA (whether serving, praying or giving) should lead them further in their relationship with Jesus.

  • What's the process of applying?

You can find any open position on our Team FCA Recruiting site and searching by State. From there, you can complete the online application and someone will contact you.

If you have other questions or don’t see a position for your area, you can reach out to your local FCA staff member to see what other possibilities are on the horizon or how to get involved for the next position available.

"My journey in youth ministry began in high school when I felt a deep calling from the Lord to help kids see how special and loved they are by Jesus. I joined FCA staff because I believe that through sports, we can share the love of Christ and build a strong community rooted in faith. My coaches created a safe space where I found belonging and purpose, and I want to help other coaches do the same, using their passion for sports to lead young people to Jesus and create a lasting impact on their lives." - Jenny, Billings Area Director
